Service
Electrode Needle Replacement
1. Prepare the gun for service as instructed on
page 30.
2. Remove the air cap, nozzle and resistor stud as
instructed on page 30.
3. Unscrew and remove the electrode needle (20)
with the multi-tool (62). See Fig. 18. Be careful not
to damage the contact wire. If the fluid rod turns,
hold the back end of the fluid rod (E) by placing a
screw driver blade into the slot on the shaft, near
the trigger.
4. Apply low-strength (purple) Loctiter or equivalent
thread sealant to the fluid rod threads.
Hold the back end of the fluid rod (E) to prevent it
from turning while installing the new electrode
needle (20) finger-tight. Do not over-tighten the
electrode needle.
CAUTION
To avoid damaging the plastic threads or contact
wire, be very careful when installing the electrode
needle.
5. Install the fluid nozzle and resistor stud assembly
and the air cap assembly as instructed on page
31.
6. Test the gun resistance as instructed on page 28.
