Follow these steps to troubleshoot the input connections only if the following
condition is true: the instrument appears to function normally in every way
except you have determined that the channel 1, channel 2, or DMM signal is not
getting into the instrument as expected.
1. Remove the front cover using the procedure Front Cover on page 6–11.
2. Remove the chassis assembly from the back cover using the procedure Back
Cover on page 6–19.
3. Check that the coaxial connections to the back side of the channel 1 and
channel 2 BNC connectors are intact. Use the DMM to measure continuity
from the BNC connector to the end of the coaxial cable where it attaches to
the main board.
4. Check that the wire connections to the back side of the DMM and COM
banana jacks are intact. Use the DMM to measure continuity from the
banana jacks to the end of the wire where it attaches to the main board.
5. If no problem is found and the trouble persists, the main board is probably
defective in some way that the internal diagnostics cannot detect. Replace it.
