0 Rick, The chuck just screws in (conventional direction thread). To remove: a) engage low gear (you're going to use the inertia of the gearbox) b) insert *handle* of chuck key into a side hole of chuck c) holding drill body firmly, strike chuck key sharply with hammer to loosen chuck d) unscrew by hand.
