Question About Black & Decker Drill PS1800
powerless...

18V battery charged [checked with voltmeter] and inserted into drill. Little-to-no power for a few seconds, then stops all together. Battery loses a couple of volts on its charge afterward.

0 I wouldn't put too much faith in a good voltage reading on the battery. Only way to know for sure is to try a new battery. Unless you can find a temporary power supply of the correct voltage/amperage/polarity and rule out the drill itself as the problem.
