I have Chicago Power Rotary Tool (trademark of Allied International). The tool is meant for sanding, polishing drilling, grinding, cutting, etc. came with about 20 different items in various sizes. The only problem, it stopped working half-way thru a shelf I was putting a decorative edge on. The manual, unlike Dremel (which is also not working), does not have any troubleshooting for the problem. Any ideas?

0 I had the same issue and found the problem. A wire / tab that is soldered to the circuit board broke off. Remove screws and unscrew front plastic knob just behind collet. Carefully separate housing making sure the piece you remove is just the casing with all the guts left in place. Look on the top side of ther circuit board toward the motor and there are two red wires soldered to the board. One should be broken off if the unit stopped suddenly as mine did.
