5 The reasons almost any electrical device stops working: 1) over heating - Did it run a long time before it quit, or start-stop very quickly? 2) Loose or bad connections - What is the condition of the cord plug connections? 3) A short circuit - This can cause current to flow where it is not intended to go, and destroy electrical components, did you smell any burning smells or see smoke? 4) Not enough power - what kind of power is the sander getting, and is it enough for its rating?
