Question About Craftsman Saw 113.29461
column tube chattering...

When lowering the saw, the column tube chatters and drops unevenly. Raising this tube is very smooth. Adjustments to the column tube key have no effect. The tension on the back up plug is also ineffective. Does the position of the elevation crank have anything to do with this problem?
