I am making rosettes in fir with a 2.5 inch blade with 1/2" shank. The chuck slips off the spindle. Drilling sounds rough even at low speed. I have attempted to tight the belt and oiled the wheels. I checked the straightness of the spindle with a 1/2 rod - seems pretty straight. I have cleaned the chuck and spindle with a soft rag - not a wet cloth - don't see any burrs. I did drop the rosette blade and a very small chip came off the inside but I don't think it is significant. Thought I'd have to get a new rosette blade but the machine sounds rough running so I think the chuck will not seat properly.
