I completely setup my new Delta Drill Press (Model 17-959L), and I could not find any mention of the Drift Key in the Tech Manual, but they included one with the press. Anyone know what the deal is with this? Is it an error on their part? Or, am I completely missing something here? The Chuck simply "taps" onto the Spindel Taper, and is not "keyed" in any way I could see. Operation of the press is very smooth, and doesn't seem to be effected by the absence of the Drift Key. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

0 I just got through assembling a Delta 20-950 and I also had a Drift Key “left over. With the help of Google, I determined it is used as a wedge to remove the chuck from the spindle. Hope this helps.
