Question About Delta Drill None
spindle and chuck problem...

the chuck does not stay on the spindle when drilling. When I have machine on and start to drill, the spidle turns and the chuck becomes loose, disengaging from the spidle and falls of. The end of the spinle is smooth and tapered, as well as the inside of the chuck. Is it stripped or how is it supposed to stay conected?

5 I have the Delta DP200. (10" benchtop model - 1/2" chuck) Different model but same problem. The chuck is held in place with pressure/friction. I had to dig up the old manual for this one. Check out the scanned pic for details. Oven cleaner trick seems to work well. Good luck!
