0 Flashing red means a bad cell or other issue. I would take the cells out, let them cool to room temperature, then put them back in while making sure that the polarity is correct. Then give it another go. If they are still flashing red, replace them with a known good pair in the charger. If it charges the known good ones normally, then one or both of the faulty set are confirmed bad. Swap them out one at a time with one of the good cells in the charger. You'll know if one or both are actually bad. Replace and properly dispose of the bad ones.
