Question About Harbor Freight Tools Sander 90979
first time opening drum for rotary tumbler...

I just purchased the 3lbChicago Rotary Tumbler model 46376. I am unable to open the drum. It does not twist off. How do I get it open?

5 I have the same one. I use the small silver disc that is used under the screw and use it to pry the lid off. It does not screw on. It simply is pushed on and held with the screw knob.

5 After you get the first silver lid off, push out around the edge of the barrel to break the seal. The second silver "lid" does not come off separate from what you are calling a round rubber belt. Pull up on the post of the second silver lid while you are breaking the seal.. It should pop off really easy. If this doesn't work, I will take pictures...

4 Squeeze the barrel a little towards the top, I do this and then use my nails to pry it off. I am in need of a new motor. I also buy belts from McMaster Carr, they last forever!

0 I have the same problem. I tried everything and still can't open the barrel lid. The big round silver lid comes off but there is big round rubber belt and under it another round silver lid. Is there a picture instruction on how to open this?
