How do you release the saw on a Chicago Electric I...

How do you release the saw on a Chicago Electric Item# 42818 in order to make angle cuts. I found the arm at the back of the saw that appears to be the release but no matter which way I turn it or how much I cannot angle the saw. I downloaded the manual, however it does not provide the answer.
