I just bouaght a Husky HDS750 and can only get it to blow air. What am I doing wrong?

0 I may have stumbled onto my problem. I loaded the can with paint thinner and now I can spray paint thinner all over the place. I guess that the paint has to be "thinned" for this sprayer.
