5 Purpose of yellow button is to start the charging process going.

4 Sorry--in question #2, I meant the Ni-MH battery.

2 I'd like to know if my 9.6 v. 1.5 Ah charger 1) can be used to charge 1.7 or 2.0 batteries (I assume they will hold charge longer) and 2) can it be used for newer Cd-MH battery? Thanks
