How do i remove the chuck. I presume it has a RH thread atachment. Is there a seperate locking screw inside the chuck ? I have tried with a spanner on the spindle and one on the flats by the mouth of the chuck but to no avail. Help please.

4 I put the short end of a 3/8" Allen wrench into the chuck and tightened it. I then put the drill in reverse, braced the drill and pulled the trigger so that it turned as slowly as possible. I then whacked the Allen wrench (as it turned) with a short (18") piece of 2x4. It took three or four whacks like this. It was hard to get the drill to turn at a slow speed and I was thinking ... this was either going to work or break the drill. (Spindle threads were right handed = lefty loosy)

4 Well, I just spent 3 hours getting mine off. It is standard threads (lefty loosey) Inside the drill there is a place for a thin 9/16 wrench. any wrench thin enough wasn't strong enough so I ground the flat edges a little wider to accommodate a standard wrench and grabbed the chuck with channel locks and no am looking for a better replacement chuck.
