can I expect to clean cut 2'' plate steel with this machine?

5 It will only cut 1.25 inch at the very max. I suggest you look at a different brand than miller for a plasma cutter. They have excellent welders but the plasma cutters have a tendency to burn up several pc boards at one time if there is a problem with one only. Very expensive to repair. Look at Hypertherm. Be aware that a machine to clean cut 2" material is going to be extremely expensive. I've been repairing welding equipment for a while now, so I have first hand experience.
