0 1) Using Visegrip pliers, loosen the blots on the top housing (8 total), and then remove the bolts and top plate. 2) Organize parts removed in order, as assembly is just in reverse. 3) Raise cutting head to max top, and remove the two clear plastic depth indicators on cutting head. 4) Loosen and remove two Allen head bolts on the TOP of the side without the crank handle using the Allen wrench provided with the unit. 5) Loosen and remove the four Allen bolts that hold the side panel (without crank handle). DO NOT REMOVE THE TWO BOLTS THAT HOLDS THE VERTICAL SUPPORT POST UP. You will need to pull hard, or use a rubber mallet to free the side panel. 6) Cut off old belt. 7) With the new belt, practice slipping the belt under the large pulley (belt turned flat between the large pulley and support post) to slip up to the small pulley. You will not be able to get the belt over both pulleys, but should be able to get close to having the belts on both pulleys. Using a flat blade screw driver, practice slipping the screw driver through the belt and resting the flat blade on the large pulley, as if to "walk" the belt onto the pulley by stretching the belt. Practice this operation until you can get the belt on the small pulley, and almost onto the large pulley, with screw drive in place, in under 15 seconds. 8) Bring a quart of water to a boil, remove from heat, soak belt in the hot water for 5-10 minutes. Remove belt from water and quickly (less than 15 seconds) set the belt onto the small pulley - most likely you will only get part of the belt on the big pulley using the screw driver. Once you are have it started on both pulleys, you can turn the small pulley and help "walk" the belt onto the big pulley. 9) Rebuild side and top in reverse, but DO NOT TIGHTEN DOWN ANY BOLTS UNTIL THE UNIT IS ALL TOGETHER.
