my motor assembly is finished. The gear on the armiture is shattered. What is the best way to get another one? If I get another one by chance, will it have a similar fate? What is the track record of these things?

The ManualsOnline team has found the manual for this product! We hope it helps solve your problem. Get the Manual Here
5 We can supply you with a new motor. They run about $100. The part number just for the motor is 210013019. If the saw is still under warranty, then you can contact any Ryobi Service Center for repairs. Our shop is an Authorized Service and Parts Center and you can contact us through the site linked below. As for the saw model itself? It's an occasional use homeowner saw. We really don't see any catastrophic failures like you have had happen. The only real complaint is that it's a little underpowered. If you just need a saw for the occasional cut every once in awhile it's fine. If you want to build decks for a living, then I'd move up.
