i have a hp-compact 4400 24volt the ac in light 1...

i have a hp-compact 4400 24volt the ac in light 1 flashes and doesn't go to transfer and charge as my generator played up when i replaced the spring and got the voltage back up to 230 volts it will not charge the batteries now can you advise me please
