electrical outlet before adjusting
tool or installing accessories.
The Hammer Drill is equipped with a
keyed Chuck. Follow these steps to insert bit:
Insert the Chuck Key (52) into the Chuck 1.
and turn counterclockwise to open the
mouth of the Chuck.
Insert the hammer bit or the drill bit (not 2.
included) all the way into the Chuck.
Turn the Chuck Key clockwise to tighten 3.
the Chuck on the bit. When not in use,
the Chuck can be stored in the holder on
the Key Sleeve (51).
Work Piece and Work Area Set Up
Designate a work area that is clean and 1.

access by children or pets to prevent
distraction and injury.
Route the power cord along a safe 2.
path to reach the work area without
creating a tripping hazard or exposing
the power cord to possible damage. The
power cord must reach the work area
with enough extra length to allow free
movement while working.
Secure loose work pieces using a vise 3.
or clamps (not included) to prevent
movement while working, if possible.
There must not be objects, such as utility 4.
lines, nearby that will present a hazard
while working.
General Operating Instructions
Plug Power Cord (53) into working outlet.1.
Slide the Forward/Reverse Switch (54) 2.
to the correct position for the current job.
For drilling (clockwise rotation), slide
the Switch to the right. To rotate Chuck
in a counterclockwise direction, slide the
Forward/Reverse Switch to the left. See
Figure 2.

3. Verify bit is securely locked in Chuck.
Press Trigger (55) to activate. To 4.
increase variable drilling speed,
continue pressing down on Trigger (55).
Decreasing pressure on Trigger will slow
the drilling speed.
WARNING! 5. Use both hands during use.
For controlled depth drilling, loosen 6.
Auxiliary Handle and slide Depth

Handle. The Depth Gauge has two sets
of markings on opposite faces of the
gauge. One is in half inch increments
and the other in 10 mm increments
(increments are not precise values, only
general guides).
NOTE: 7. Depth Gauge length may not be
adequate for all drill bits used.

Auxiliary Handle, place tip of bit against
a solid, hard surface and extend Gauge
until against same surface. Determine

accordingly. Tighten Auxiliary Handle.
To switch between plain drilling and 9.
hammering mode (drilling with an
