INSTALLING BITS
See Figure 6.
Lock the switch tdgger by placing the direction of
rotation selector in center position. See Figure 2.
Open or close chuck jaws toa pointwhere the
opening is slightlylarger than the bitsize you intend
to use. Also, raisethe front of your drill slightlyto
keep the bit from falling outof the chuckjaws.
Insert ddll bit into chuck the full length of the jaws
as shown in Figure 6.

Tighten the chuck jaws on drill bit.
To tighten the chuck jaws on ddll bit; grasp and
hold the collar of the chuck with one hand, while
rotating the chuck body with your other hand.
Note: Rotate the chuck body in the direction of
the arrow marked LOCK to tighten chuck jaws.
Do not use a wrench to tighten or loosen the
chuck jaws.
_lb WARNING: Do not insert ddil bitinto chuck jaws
and tighten as shown infigure 7. This could cause
drill bitto be thrown from drinresultingin possible
serious personal injury or damage to the chuck.
REMOVING BITS
See Figure 6.
Lock the switch trigger by placing the direction of
rotation selector in center position. See Figure 2.
Loosen the chuck jaws from ddll bit.
To loosen: grasp and hold the collar of the chuck
with one hand, while rotatingchuck bodywith your
other hand. Note: Rotate chuck body in the
direction of the arrow marked UNLOCK to loosen
chuck jaws.
Do not use a wrench totighten or loosen the
chuck jaws.
Remove drillbit from chuck jaws.
ADJUSTABLE TORQUE CLUTCH
Your drill is equipped with an adjustable torque clutch
for driving different types of screws into different
materials. The proper setting depends on the type of
matadal and the size of screw you are using.
TO ADJUST TORQUE
Identify the six torque indicator settings located on
the front of your ddll. See Figure 8.
Rotate adjusting dng to the desired setting.
t For driving small screws.
2 For ddving screws into softmaterial.
3 For ddving screws into softand hard
materials.
4 For driving screws in hard wood.
5 For ddving large screws.
