RULES FOR SAFE OPERATION
The employer and/or user must ensure that proper eye protection is worn.
Eye protection equipment must conform to the requirements of the American
National Standards Institute, ANSI Z87.1-1989 and provide both frontal and side
protection. NOTE: Non-side shielded spectacles and face shields alone do not
provide adequate protection.
CAUTION: Additional Safety Protection will be required in some environments.
For example, the working area may include exposure to noise level which can
lead to hearing damage. The employer and user must ensure that any necessary
hearing protection is provided and used by the operator and others in the work
area. Some environments will require the use of head protection equipment.
When required, the employer and user must ensure that head protection
conforming to ANSI Z89.1 1986 is used.
1. All users must read and fully understand all information contained in this owners manual before
assembling, operating, or maintaining this air compressor.
2. Never touch any moving parts with any body parts.
3. Never operate air compressor without all guards and shrouds in place.
4. Never exceed the pressure rating of any component within the air system (including, but not
limited to, spray guns, hose and hose connections).
5. Always wear eye protection when operating.
6. Operate compressor only in a dry, clean, and well-ventilated area.
7. Inspect all components before use for any signs of wear or damage. Do not operate compressor if
any deficiency is found. Contact your Authorized BOSTITCH Service Center for replacement parts
and service.
8. Compressed air blast must never be aimed at anyone. Accidental discharge may result in serious
injury.
9. Keep children away from area of operation.
10. All air compressors generate heat even under normal operating conditions. To avoid serious burns
never touch the cylinder head parts or tubing during or immediately after operation.
11. Always shut the air compressor off by the power switch before unplugging. This allows the
unloader valve to properly function resulting in easier starting.
12. Do not abuse the power cord. Use only the handle to transport the air compressor.
13. Avoid the use of an extension cord; instead use a longer airline.
14. Operate at the air compressors rated voltage.
15. Keep work area clean and free from debris.
16. Always disconnect air compressor before transporting, servicing, or maintenance.
17. Use only a properly grounded outlet that will accept a three-pronged plug. Wear proper footwear to
prevent against shocks.
18. Drain tanks of moisture daily by opening the drain cocks. Leave drain cocks open if unit is not to
be used for any length of time. This will allow moisture to completely drain from the tanks and help
prevent corrosion.
19. Never tamper with the safety valve or pressure switch settings. See only an Authorized
BOSTITCH Service Center to service and maintain these components. Any adjustments to
this valve could cause serious injury.
20. Use only Genuine BOSTITCH replacement parts.
21. Save this owners manual with the air compressor and allow all other operators to completely read
and fully understand the manual.
