the caution led constantly burns; the laser just once worked. after switching to laser the display gives on the right side the stud(s) no iron or metal around. what is the solution?

0 Level is out. Place level on same point and rotate the beam to reverse (opposite) side. My laser is high on one side and low on the other. It is definitely not level both sides.
