PREPARING THE ENGINE
Equipmentstoredwithfuelcanbecomestalewhenstoredover30
days.Stalefuelcausesacidandgumdepositstoformin fuelsystem
or onessentialcarburetorparts.Mixfuelstabilizerwithfuelin tankor
storagecontainer.Runenginefora shorttimetocirculatestabilizer
throughcarburetorandengine.Engineandfuelwithstabilizercanbe
storedupto24months.
IMPORTANT:Iffuelstabilizerisnotused,you needtodraingasoline
fromequipmentpriortostorage.
Performthefollowingbeforelong-termstorageofequipment:
1. Whileengineis stillwarm,changeoil.
2. Removesparkplugand pourapproximately1/2oz.(15ml)of
newengineoilintosparkplugcavitywhichputsoil intocylinder.
Replacesparkplugsecurely.
3. Pullstarterropeslowly.Thisturnstheengine'scrankshaftand
distributesoil throughtheengine.
4. Addfuelstabilizeror drainfuelfromengine.
5. Cleandirtanddebrisfromtopandall areasaroundengine.
6. Storein a clean,dryarea.
PREPARING THE LAWN MOWER
• Cleanandlubricatemowerthoroughlyasdescribedinthe lubrica-
tioninstructions.
• Donotusea pressurewasheror gardenhosetocleanyour unit.
• Coatmower'scuttingbladewithchassisgreaseto prevent
rusting.
• Storemowerin a dry,cleanarea.Donotstorenexttocorrosive
materials,suchasfertilizer.
Whenstoringanytypeofpowerequipmentina poorlyventilatedor
metalstorageshed,careshouldbetakentorust-prooftheequipment.
Usinga lightoil orsilicone,coattheequipment,especiallycablesand
all movingpartsof yourlawnmowerbeforestorage.
Battery
Thebatterymustbestoredwitha fullcharge.Extendedstorageofa
dischargedbatterywillreducelifeandcapacityofthebattery.
