Poweringthemeter
Openthebatterycompartmentbylooseningthetwoscrewslocatedonthebackofthemeter
(oneithersideofthemagnet).InsertanewCR20323Vlithiumbuttonbatteryandclosethe
cover.Ifabatteryisalreadyinstalled,removetheinsulationstripsothatthebatterycanmake
propercircuitcontact.
The instrument is now ready foruse. Press the ON/OFF key once to power the meter. The
meter’sprevioussettingswillbepreserved.
Neverdisposeofusedbatteriesorrechargeablebatteriesinhouseholdwaste.
As consumers, users are legally required to take used batteries to appropriate
collectionsites,
theretailstorewherethebatterieswerepurchased,orwherever
batteriesaresold.
Disposal: Do not dispose of this instrument in household waste. The user is
obligatedtotakeend‐of‐lifedevicestoadesignatedcollectionpointforthedisposal
ofelectricalandelectronicequipment.

MAX‐MINandHOLDFunction
Tofreeze(hold)thedisplayedreading,presstheMAX/MINkey.Thecurrentreadingwillbeheld
on the display and the HOLD display icon will be visible. Press MAX/MIN again to view the
Maximumreadingcapturedsincethelastreset;theMAXindicatorwillbevisiblealongwiththe
MAXreading.PressMAX‐MINagaintoviewtheMinimum(MIN)temperaturereading;theMIN
iconwillbevisiblealongwiththelowestreadingcapturedsincethelastreset.ToresettheMAX
andMINvaluespressandholdtheMAX‐MINbuttonfor3secondswhiletheMAXorMINicon
is
visible. To return to normal operation press the MAX/MIN key again; the HOLD‐MIN‐MAX
indicatorsshouldnowbeoff.
