28 Setting V-Chip (cont’d)
MPAA Rating Settings
You can block TV channel viewing according to the Motion
Picture of Association ratings. To do so, follow these steps.

Press SET-UP.

Press ▲ or ▼ to select V-CHIP SET UP.
Then, press ENTER.

Press the Number buttons to enter the 4-digit
access code. (The default code is 0000 if you have
not set up your own code yet or if the power has
failed.)

Press ▲ or ▼ to select MPAA RATING.
Then, press ENTER.

Press ▲ or ▼ to select the level at which you
want to block viewing. Then, press ENTER to
select BLOCK or VIEW.
When you Block a category, higher ratings turn to
BLOCK automatically. Lower ratings turn to VIEW.
When you set G to VIEW or BLOCK, all ratings turn
to VIEW or BLOCK automatically.

Press SET-UP to save your settings and remove
the menus.
MPAA Rating Explanations
•G - General Audience
•PG - Parental Guidance suggested.
• PG-13 - Unsuitable for children
under 13
•R - Restricted; under 17 requires
accompanying parent or adult
guardian
• NC-17 - No one under 17 admitted
•X - Mature audience only
•To disable all the MPAA
Ratings, set G to VIEW.
• The V-CHIP Settings will be
retained after a power failure
(except the access code
reverts to 0000).
