Starting an application on the Memory Stick™
To open an application on the Memory Stick™ from the Application Launcher screen, tap the arrow in
the top right-hand corner of the Application Launcher screen and select Card (or a category with the Card
icon). Then tap the icon of the application you want to open.
If the application you are about to open was installed on the Memory Stick™ through a HotSync® operation, some applications may not start.
Formatting a Memory Stick™
Formatting defines the recording format for the Memory Stick™ so that you can access data with your CLIÉ
handheld. Commercially available Memory Sticks™ are already formatted, so you can use them immediately.
However, you may have to reformat your Memory Stick™ at some point.
To format a Memory Stick™, proceed as follows:
1 Insert the Memory Stick™.
2 Tap the Home icon .
The Application Launcher appears.
3 Rotate the Jog Dial™ to select MS Gate.
4 Press the Jog Dial™.
MS Gate starts up.
5 Tap the Menu icon.
6 Tap Option, then Format.
The confirmation message appears.
7 Tap OK.

When you format a Memory Stick™ on which data is already stored, all data will be deleted. Be careful that you do not delete important data by
mistake.
