Unpacking
Due to modern mass production techniques, it is unlikely
that your GMC Power Tool is faulty or that a part is
missing. If you find anything wrong, do not operate the
tool until the parts have been replaced or the fault has
been rectified. Failure to do so could result in serious
personal injury.
Adjusting the driving depths
The depth to which a screw is driven into the wall or other
surface can be accurately set to suit the type of screw and
the material being fastened.
The driving depth is adjusted with
the depth adjustment collar (2).
1. Pull the depth adjustment
collar forward towards the
nose piece (1) as far as it
will go.
2. To increase the driving depth
rotate the depth adjustment
collar in a clockwise direction
(viewed from the rear).
3. To decrease the driving depth
rotate the depth adjustment
collar in an anti-clockwise
direction (viewed from the
rear).
4. When the driving depth has
been correctly adjusted pull
the depth adjustment collar backwards the rear of the
tool until it touches the large hex nut (4) on the front
of the tool housing.
NOTE. It may be necessary to drive a number of screws
into a test piece of material to establish the ideal driving
depth adjustment.
Fitting a 1/4” shank bit
1/4” Shank bits and bit holder
extensions such as the one
supplied as an accessory can
be fitted into the magnetic hex
shank bit holder (3) located
inside the nose piece (1). The
magnetic hex shank bit holder
makes it easier and quicker to fit
screw driving bits.
When removing screws and other
fasteners, make sure that the
depth adjustment collar (2)
is pulled all the way forwards
towards the nose piece (1) and
that forward/reverse switch (9) is
positioned on the left-hand side
of the tool (as viewed from the
rear).
Switching on and off
1. To switch the tool on, squeeze
the variable speed trigger switch
(7).
2. The more pressure exerted on
the switch the faster the motor
will turn.
3. Releasing the trigger switch
stops the motor.
CAUTION. Always maintain tight control of the tool when
switching on and off and remember that the motor will
continue to turn for a short while after switching off.
