Operating Instructions
Read and understand these directions thoroughly before
attempting to operate the water heater. Make sure the view port
is not missing or damaged (See Figure 36). Make sure the tank
is completely filled with water before operating the water heater.
The gas control valve/thermostat has a "On/Off Switch" and
needs to be turned on before water heater is operational. Check
the label on the front of heater near the gas control valve/
thermostat for the correct gas. Do not use this water heater with
any gas other than the one listed on the label. If you have any
questions or doubts, consult your gas supplier or gas utility
company.

Replace view port if glass is missing

1 STOP! Read the safety information

2. Turn on all electrical power to the appliance.
3. Set the ON/OFF switch on the gas control to the
"ON" position.
4. Set the Electronic Display to the lowest
setting by [jrst pressing the COOLER _ and
HOTTER _ buttons together and holding for 1
second. Then press the COOLER (v) button to
the lowest setting.
5. Set the ON/OFF switch on the gas control to the
"OFF" position.
6. This appliance is equipped with a device
which automatically lights the burner.
DO NOT TRY TO LIGHT THE BURNER BY HAND.
7. Wait five (5) minutes to _ clear out any gas.
