STARTING THE ENGINE
The engine can be started by motor (electric) or manually
(recoil). Refer to Figures 3 and 4 for the location of
controls and components.

3. Place the
choke lever
(Figure 14) in the "
OPEN
" position
if starting a
cold
engine.
4. Place the
choke lever
(Figure 15) in the "
CLOSED
" position
if starting a
warm engine
or the
temperature is warm.

5. Place the
engine ON/OFF switch
(Figure 16) in the "
ON
"
position.

7. If the engine has started, slowly return the choke lever
(Figure 17 ) to the
CLOSED
position. If the engine has not
started repeat steps 1 through 6.
8. Before the roller is placed into operation, run the engine for
several minutes. Check for fuel leaks, and noises that would
be associated with a loose component.

Make sure to follow all safety rules referenced in
the safety section of this manual before operating
roller. Keep work area clear of debris and other
objects that could cause damage to the roller or
bodily injury.
CAUTION :
Electric Start
1. On the control handle:
A. Move the
throttle lever
to the RUN position.
B. Move the
travel lever
to the NEUTRAL position.
C. Move the
vibration lever
to the OFF position.
2. Place the engine
fuel valve lever
(Figure 13) to the "ON"
position.
When the engine is running, NEVER turn the
starter key to the START position
