MAINTENANCE
WARNING:
When servicing use only identical RIDGID
replacement parts. Use of any other parts may
create a hazard or cause product damage.
WARNING:
Always wear safety goggles or safety glasses with
side shields when using compressed air to clean
worklights. If operation is dusty, also wear a dust
mask.
WARNING:
To avoid serious personal injury, always remove the
battery pack from the worklight when cleaning or
performing any maintenance.
GENERAL MAINTENANCE
Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Most
plastics are susceptible to damage from various types of
commercial solvents and may be damaged by their use. Use
clean cloths to remove dirt, dust, oil, grease, etc.
WARNING:
Do not at any time let brake fluids, gasoline,
petroleum-based products, penetrating oils, etc.,
come in contact with plastic parts. Chemicals can
damage, weaken or destroy plastic which may
result in serious personal injury.
Only the parts shown on the parts list are intended to be
repaired or replaced by the customer. All other parts should
be replaced at a RIDGID authorized service center.
BULB REPLACEMENT
See Figure 6.
When purchasing replacement bulb, request recommended
part number 780036001 (for Model No. R829) or 7806001
(for Model No. R839).
TO REPLACE BULB:
n Allow bulb to cool.
n Remove battery pack from worklight.
n Twist lens cover in a counter-clockwise direction and
remove.
n Twist old bulb until silver triangle and triangle-shaped
notch are aligned, then pull to remove.
n Position new bulb by aligning notch on bulb with silver
triangle on bulb socket.
��n Push in on bulb slightly and twist to secure.
n Replace lens cover.
��n Replace battery pack.
NOTE: For your convenience, the worklight has a spare bulb
storage area. It is located behind the lens cover.
