Once assembly is complete and adjustments
are done to your satisfaction, you are ready to
start the drill press. Every time you start the
drill press, you should follow these basic
instructions.
To start the drill press, do these steps:
1. Make sure the starting switch paddle is
down for OFF.
2. Make sure all fasteners and lock handles
are tight.
3. Make sure the drill chuck key is removed.
4.
Plug in the power cord.
5. Lift the ON/OFF switch to start the drill
press, and make sure that your finger is
poised over the paddle, as shown in Figure
32, just in case there is a problem.
6. Listen and observe the drill press, it should
run smoothly, with little or no vibration or
rubbing noises.
If you hear strange or unusual noises,
shut the drill press OFF, and wait for the
spindle to stop moving.
7. Unplug the drill press and refer to the
Troubleshooting” table on Page 26 to
help isolate and correct the problem
before using the drill press again.
