Required equipment and information
On the main DEFINITY PPN or EPN (DEFINITY ECS r, si, or csi platform, DEFINITY
ONE, or IP 600):
■ Release 9 or later software
■ TN799C Control-LAN (C-LAN) circuit pack in a DEFINITY system for firmware
download (A TN799B will work as long as one C-LAN circuit pack is a TN799C.)
■ TN2302AP IP Media Processor circuit pack
■ Router/Access concentrator to serve as IP gateway
■ IP address for C-LAN circuit pack
■ IP address for IP Media Processor
■ WAN Router (with Network Services)
At the remote site:
■ Avaya R300 (and associated cables)
■ Interconnect module (and associated cables)
■ Mounting rack (optional)
■ Terminal/ PC for administering the Avaya R300
— Terminal communications software (such as Microsoft HyperTerminal)
— Optionally, a telnet session from an IP terminal
— TFTP server software (required only for R300 firmware upgrades)
— FTP server software
— directory to store files
■ IP Network Tap (valid IP address and subnet mask which is customer supplied)
■ U.S. Robotics 9.6 K modem or the equivalent (for remote maintenance)
NOTE:
At least one modem is required for maintenance. If there are two Avaya
R300 units, then two modems should be supplied in case one of the modem
links is faulty. For additional Avaya R300 units, telnet may be enabled
between Avaya R300 units with a modem, or additional modems are
required for each additional Avaya R300 unit.
