RealMediasupportsasmallersetofvideocodecsthantheotherformats.Themostrecentcodecis

alwaysthebestchoice.Theoptionsare:

Realmediaaudiocodecs





Unlikeotherformats,aRealAudiocodecisdefinedbyacombinationofacodec,datarate,sample

rate,andchannels.Insteadofpickingacodecandotherparameters,theuserpicksaninclusive

combination.AnothertwistwiththeRealMediaaudiosupportisthatmanytoolsrequireaudiocodecs

tobespecifiedforvideoandmusiccontent,forbothvideoandaudiofilesandaudio‐onlyfiles.The

userpickstheonebasedonthemodethefilewasencodedwith.It’simportantfortheusertopickthe

correctsettingforthemodethatisactuallybeingused.
