3.14 Intercom
Intercom calls can be made between the cordless
handset and the base unit.
3.14.1 Making intercom calls
With the cordless handset
1 {INTERCOM}
L The base unit will beep (be paged) for 1 minute.
L To stop paging, press {OFF}.
2 When the paged party answers, talk into the
cordless handset.
3 To end the intercom call, press {OFF}.
With the base unit
You can also locate a misplaced cordless handset by
paging it (Cordless handset locator).
1 {INTERCOM}
L The cordless handset will beep (be paged) for 1
minute.
L To stop paging, press {SP-PHONE} or
{INTERCOM}.
2 When the paged party answers, talk into {MIC}.
3 To end the intercom call, press {SP-PHONE} or
{INTERCOM}.
3.14.2 Answering intercom calls
With the cordless handset
When the cordless handset is being paged, it will beep
(be paged) and the ringer indicator will flash rapidly.
1 Press {TALK}, {SP-PHONE} or {INTERCOM} to
answer the page.
2 To end the intercom call, press {OFF}.
With the base unit
When the base unit is being paged, it will beep.
1 Press {SP-PHONE} or {INTERCOM} to answer the
page.
2 To end the intercom call, press {SP-PHONE} or
{INTERCOM}.
3.15 Transferring a call
A telephone call can be transferred between the base
unit and the cordless handset using the intercom feature.
3.15.1 To transfer a call from the cordless
handset

Cordless handset:
During a phone call, press {INTERCOM} 2 times to
page the base unit.
L The call will be put on hold.
2 Base unit:
Press {SP-PHONE} or {INTERCOM} to answer the
page.
3 Cordless handset:
To complete the transfer, press {OFF}.
3.15.2 To transfer a call from the base unit

Base unit:
During a phone call, press {INTERCOM} 2 times to
page the cordless handset.
L The call will be put on hold.
2 Cordless handset:
Press {TALK}, {SP-PHONE} or {INTERCOM} to
answer the page.
3 Base unit:
To complete the transfer, press {SP-PHONE}.
Note:
L If the paged party does not answer the call, press
{TALK}, {SP-PHONE} on the cordless handset or
{INTERCOM} on the base unit to return to the call.
