The Cisco HWIC-AP-G
80211b/g and
HWIC-AP-AG 80211a/b/g
are wireless LAN
interface cards in the
HWIC (High-Speed WAN
Interface Card) form factor
providing integrated
access point function-
ality in the Cisco 1800
(modular), Cisco 2800,
and Cisco 3800 Integrated
Services Routers
The Cisco HWIC-AP-G
supports IEEE 80211b/g
and has a single radio that
operates in the 24 GHz
band supporting up to
54 Mbps speeds The
Cisco HWIC-AP-AG
supports IEEE 80211a/b/g
and has two radios for
simultaneous operation
in the 24 GHz and 5 GHz
bands supporting up to
108 Mbps speeds
The Cisco HWIC access
points come with a
pair of RP-TNC antenna
connectors for both
24 GHz single-radio or
simultaneous 24 and
5 GHz radio operation,
providing range and
coverage versatility

Services Routers

The new HWIC provides
additional Layer 3 routed
ports with features
equivalent to those on
the motherboard of the
Integrated Services
Routers These Fast
Ethernet interfaces can
be used for physical LAN
segregation, creation of a
demilitarized zone (DMZ),
or as a WAN interface
Broadband customers
can use them to connect
to an alternate provider
that delivers service on an
Ethernet port
The Layer 3 Cisco 2- port
Fast Ethernet High-Speed
WAN interface cards
(HWICs) supported on
the Cisco 3800 Series
Integrated Services
Routers offer small-to-
large-sized businesses and
enterprise branch-ofce
customers the option to
add Layer 3 routed ports
with many advanced
features, including quality-
of-service (QoS) and
rate-limiting capabilities
