Carriage feed rate is dependent upon the
spindle speed—higher spindle speeds
equal higher feed rates! Pay close attention
to the rate of the powered carriage move-
ment and keep your hand poised over the
feed lever to disengage it when necessary.
Failure to fully understand this could result
in the carriage crashing into the headstock
or tailstock causing severe damage to the
lathe.
