9. Maintain tools with care. Keep tools clean for better and safer performance. Follow
instructions for lubricating and changing accessories. Inspect tool cords periodically and, if
damaged, have them repaired by an authorized technician. The handle must be kept clean,
dry, and free from oil and grease at all times.
10. Stay alert. Watch what you are doing, use common sense. Do not operate any tool when you
are tired.
11. Check for damaged parts. Before using any tool, any part that appears damaged should be
carefully checked to determine that it will operate properly and perform its intended function.
Check for alignment and binding of moving parts; any broken parts or mounting fixtures; and
any other condition that may affect proper operation. Any part that is damaged should be
properly repaired or replaced by a qualified technician.
12. Guard against electric shock. Prevent body contact with grounded surfaces such as pipes,
radiators, ranges, and refrigerator enclosures.
13. Replacement parts and accessories. When servicing, use only identical replacement parts.
Use of any other parts will void the warranty. Only use accessories intended for use with this
tool. Approved accessories are available from Harbor Freight Tools.
14. Do not operate tool if under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Read warning labels on
prescriptions to determine if your judgment or reflexes are impaired while taking drugs. If there
is any doubt, do not operate the tool.
15. Maintenance. For your safety, maintenance should be performed regularly by a qualified
technician.
16. Never leave a loaded spring unattended. Whenever a strut spring is compressed, a lot of
force is stored in the spring. This must be controlled and monitored until the spring is relaxed.
17. Keep hands and fingers away from the Spring Compressor when applying or releasing
a load.
18. Release a load from the Spring Compressor before performing any service or
maintenance. Do not move the tool, service the pump, or clean a Strut Assembly while it’s
under a load.
19. Do not allow contact with lubricants. Make sure the Spring Compressor is clean and all
lubricants are washed off prior to use. Lubricants will diminish it’s ability to hold the sping
firmly and safely.
Never exceed the maximum capacity of 1500 Lbs. Personal injury or property damage
may result if you exceed the capacity of the Spring Compressor.
20. Warning: De-grease the strut spring to be compressed. Never attempt to compress a
dirty spring.
21. Warning: The maximum force which can be applied by the Strut Spring Compressor is 1,500
Lbs. Use the Strut Spring Compressor only on passenger cars and pickup trucks. Using the
Struct Spring Compressor at a force greater than 1,500 lbs. may result in personal injury and/or
property damage.
22. Do not allow any lubricants to contact the Coil Brackets (#16) of the Hydraulic Spring
Compressor. Lubricants of any type on the above mentioned parts will diminish the ability of the
Hydraulic Spring Comporessor to firmly and safely grip and hold a Strut Spring in position, which
may result in personal injury and/or property damage.
