If it is necessary to remove the battery from the vehicle to charge 3.5
it,alwaysremovethegroundedterminalrst.Makesureallofthe
accessories in the vehicle are off to prevent arcing.
Be sure the area around the battery is well ventilated while the battery is 3.6
being charged.
Add distilled water to each cell until the battery acid reaches the level 3.7
speciedbythebatterymanufacturer.Donotoverll.Forabatterywithout
removablecellcaps,suchasvalveregulatedleadacidbatteries(VRLA),
carefully follow the manufacturer’s recharging instructions.
Read, understand and follow all instructions for the charger, battery, 3.8
vehicle and any equipment used near the battery and charger. Study all
ofthebatterymanufacturer’sspecicprecautionswhilechargingand
recommended rates of charge.
Determine the voltage of the battery by referring to the vehicle owner’s 3.9
manual and make sure that the output voltage is correct.
Make sure that the charger cable connector makes tight connections.3.10

Locate the charger as far away from the battery as the DC cables permit.4.1

Connect and disconnect the DC output cables only after setting the 5.1
charger switch to the “off” position and removing the AC plug from the
electrical outlet.
