4 Select the desired access point.
• If the desired access point is not displayed, you can touch
[Í] or [Î] to go through the list of detected access
points. You can also touch [Search Again] to have the
camcorder search for access points again.
• When the network name (SSID) of the desired access point
appears, touch [OK].
• If the access point is encrypted (C), enter the encryption
key (password) with the following procedure. Otherwise,
go to step 7 of
Manual Setup
(A 124) and perform the
rest of that procedure.
Encrypted Access Points
1 If necessary, select the WEP index key.
• This step is only necessary if the Wi-Fi network’s authentication method is set to [WPA] or if the encryption
method is set to [WEP].
2 To enter the [Encryption Key] (password), touch [Not configured].
• Enter the password of the selected Wi-Fi network using the keyboard screen (A 123).
3 When the confirmation screen appears, touch [OK] and then touch [X].
NOTES
• Valid encryption keys vary depending on the encryption method.
64-bit WEP encryption: 5 ASCII characters or 10 hexadecimal characters.
128-bit WEP encryption: 13 ASCII characters or 26 hexadecimal characters.
AES / TKIP encryption: 8 to 63 ASCII characters or 64 hexadecimal characters.
* Note: ASCII characters include the numbers 0 to 9, the letters a to z and A to Z and some punctuation marks and special
symbols. Hexadecimal characters comprise the numbers 0 to 9 and the letters a to f and A to F.
Using the Virtual Keyboard Screen
The virtual keyboard is displayed on the screen. The illustration below explains the various keys you can use.
1 Touch the desired keys to type the corresponding character.
•Touch [Ï]/[Ð] to change the position of the cursor.
• Touch [123] to switch between letters and numbers/special characters.
• Touch [ ] to delete the character to the cursor’s left.
• Touch [A/a] for caps lock. When the numerical keyboard is displayed, [#%?] switches between set 1 and
set 2 of special characters.
2 After entering the desired text, touch [OK].
3 Back in the original screen, touch [Next] to continue.
