STARTING AND
STOPPING MACHINE
To start the machine, compress switch trigger (A) Fig.
28. To stop the machine, release the switch trigger.
This tool is equipped with an automatic electric blade
brake. As soon as the switch trigger (A) Fig. 28 is
released, the electric brake is activated and stops the
blade in seconds.
DANGER: A TURNING SAW BLADE CAN BE
DANGER-OUS. AFTER COMPLETING CUT, RELEASE
SWITCH TRIGGER (A) FIG. 28, TO ACTIVATE BLADE
BRAKE. KEEP CUTTINGHEAD DOWN UNTIL BLADE
HAS COME TO A COMPLETE STOP.
WARNING: THE TORQUE DEVELOPED DURING
BRAKING MAY LOOSEN THE ARBOR SCREW. THE
ARBOR SCREW SHOULD BE CHECKED
PERIODICALLY AND TIGHTENED IF NECESSARY.
LOCKING SWITCH IN
THE “OFF” POSITION
IMPORTANT: When the tool is not in use, the switch
should be locked in the “OFF” position (to prevent
unauthorized use) using a padlock (B), with a 3/16
shank, as shown in Fig. 29. Padlock is available from
Delta as an accessory.
ROTATING TABLE FOR MITER CUTTING
1. Your compound slide saw will cut any angle from
a straight 90 degree cut to 57 degrees to the right and
47 degrees to the left. Compress table locking lever (A)
Fig. 30, and move the table to the desired angle. Then
release table locking lever (A).
2. IMPORTANT: Table locking lever (A) Fig. 30, must
be compressed when rotating the table. When locking
lever (A) is not compressed, the table is in the locked
position.
