Cutting speed selection
The general rule is the harder the material being cut, the
slower the blade speed.
20 m/min
for stainless steel, alloy steel and bearing bronzes.
30-50 m/min
for mild steel, hard brass or bronze.
65 m/min
for soft brass, aluminium or other light materials.
Saw band lubricant
The lifetime of the saw band can be extended significantly by
lubricating it with stick wax Art. 100103.
NOTE
Some materials, such as stainless steel or aluminium,
require specific oils.
9. Maintenance
The following are the main maintenance tasks that need to
be carried out daily, weekly, monthly or semi-annually.
Failure to carry out these tasks will lead to premature wear
and reduce the machine's performance.
Daily maintenance
- Remove sawdust.
- Check the saw blade for wear.
- Raise the saw arm all the way up and release the saw
blade in order to prevent unnecessary strain.
- Check the protective covers and emergency/off devices to
make sure they are in perfect working order.
Weekly maintenance
- Clean the machine thoroughly to remove all sawdust.
- Clean and lubricate the tensioning screw, vice grooves and
guides.
- Clean the saw band bearings.
- Sharpen the teeth.
Monthly maintenance
- Tighten all the screws.
- Check the protective covers and devices for integrity.
Semi-annual maintenance
- Drain the gearbox. It should be drained for the first time
after 50 operating hours. Use lubricant Art. 100381 (SAE 90)
or similar.
Extraordinary maintenance
Any extraordinary maintenance is to be carried out by
qualified personnel. It is best to contact your machine dealer.
Extraordinary maintenance tasks include replacing the
protective covers and checking the safety devices.
DECOMMISSIONING
If the machine is not going to be used for a long time, then
we advise the following:
- Disconnect the mains socket.
- Clean the machine thoroughly and protect appropriately
(grease).
- If necessary, cover the machine with a tarpaulin.
10. Environmental protection
Protect the environment.
Your appliance contains valuable materials which can be
recovered or recycled. Please leave it at a specialized
institution.
