Local Lincoln Authorized Field Service Facility for technical troubleshooting assistance before you proceed.
CAUTION
PROBLEMS
(SYMPTOMS)
Recoil starter is hard to pull.
Engine will not start or starts but
runs rough with low power.
Engine runs erratically or stops run-
ning.
Engine sputters but will not start.
Arc is erratic and “pops out”.
POSSIBLE
CAUSE
1. Crankcase may be over-filled
with oil. - Check oil level.
1. Water in engine from rain and /
or condensation. - Remove spark
plug and dry it if wet. Blow low
pressure compressed air in
spark plug port while pulling
recoil starter. Re-install spark
plug.
2. Spark plug may be faulty.
3. Air filter element saturated with
water and / or oil - Replace.
1. Engine is not fully warmed-up
and engine choke is in the fully-
open (RUN) position.
2. Engine requires service to head,
carburetor, filters, oil spark plug
and / or gas.
3. Oil level to low.
1. Bad gas, bad filter, air cleaner,
spark plug, and / or breather.
1. Check Work and Electrode
cables for loose or faulty connec-
tion.
2. Electrode may be wet.
RECOMMENDED
COURSE OF ACTION
If all recommended possible areas
of misadjustment have been
checked and the problem persists,
Contact your local Lincoln
Authorized Field Service Facility.
