To change motor brushes:
1. DISCONNECT SANDER FROM POWER.
2. Turn machine on its side, and remove the screws
securing the base plate, then remove the base plate
to allow access to the motor.
3. Disconnect the wire attached to the motor brush
assembly.
4. Loosen the screws that secure the clamp plate over
the brush assemblies (see Figure 16) but do not
completely remove the plate.
5. Gently pull the brush assembly straight toward you
and then upward to remove it.
6. Install new motor brush assembly.
7. Tighten the clamp plate back in place.
8. Repeat these steps to change the second motor
brush assembly.
9. Reconnect the wire to the motor brush.
10. Replace the base plate.
