Warning:Thecircuitundertestmustbecompletelydeenergizedandisolatedbeforemaking
testconnections.
1. Afterturningtheuniton,makesurethattheReplaceBatterymessageisnotdisplayed.If
theReplaceBatterymessageisdisplayedreplacethebatteriesbeforeproceeding.
2. Thetestvoltagedefaultsto2500Vonpowerup.Selectthedesiredtestvoltageusingthe
Voltage Adjust buttons (±500V) that step
through the available test voltages in 500V
incrementsorbypressingoneofthepresettestvoltagebuttons(10kV,5kV,2.5kV,1Kv).
3. ThedisplayshowstheConnectLeadspromptalongwiththeselectedtestvoltagevalue.
ConnecttheGreentestleadtotheGreentestsocketonthemeter
andthentotheGround
sideoftheinsulatorundertest.
ConnecttheRedleadtotheRedtestsocketonthemeterandtheBlueguardcabletothe
bluesocketonthemeter.ConnecttheserviceendoftheRedcabletoothersideofthe
insulatorundertest.

IfaLeakageGuardleadisrequiretocollectsurfaceleakage,connecttheseparateBluetest
leadintotheBlueguardleadfromtheRedtestleadwhichispluggedintotheBluetest
socketon themeter andthen clip theservice endof the cableto the surface
ofthe
insulatorundertest.
4. Pressandhold
theTestStart/Stopbuttonforatleast5secondstotheinitiateDAR/PItesting
mode.
5. After1minute,theelapsedtesttimerappearsontheupperline(righthandside)ofthe
display.Theresistancereadingisshownontheupperlefthandsideofthedisplay.Thelower
lineshowsthetestvoltageandtheDARvalue.
6. After10minutes,thetestcompletes.Thedisplaywillshowtheresults:

7. To
takeanothertest,presstheTESTSTART/STOPbutton,theConnectLeadspromptshould
