Printer Errors
Message / Symptom Cause Action
Printer light does not turn on
Printer is not receiving power. Refer to Printer Manual. Check
system power; ensure power
supply is connected. Ensure
that switch on bottom right side
of the printer is turned to the ON
position. If problem persists
contact Technical Support to
report the problem.
Communications Errors
Message Cause Action
Transfer Error
Transfer Failed
Network communications error,
or error writing to USB flash
Drive.
Check all connections and try
again.
Ensure that the USB is pre-
configured with the four
required directories: patient,
lqc, iqc and log.
If problem continues, contact
Supervisor or Technical
Support.
USB Device Errors
Message Cause Action
Multiple Printers Attached,
Remove Device
Two USB printers are
connected. Only one printer is
permitted.
Remove additional printer.
Multiple USB Drives attached,
Remove Device
More than one USB device of
the same type is connected.
Remove the additional USB
device. Leave one connected.
Unrecognized Scanner or
Keyboard, Remove Device
Device attached not supported
by 3M Rapid Detection Reader.
Remove device. NOTE:
Barcode Scanner must be
configured for HID keyboard
emulation. (Refer to Scanner
Quick Start Guide.)
If problem persists, contact
Technical Support.
USB Not Visible. Reinsert &
Try Again
The USB device is not detected
by the 3M Rapid Detection
Reader.
Re-connect the USB device and
try again.
