An arbor is included for the drill chuck that
comes with this machine. The following procedure
describes how to install the arbor in the chuck.
After the arbor is installed in the drill chuck, it
is very difficult to separate the assembly. If you
would like to use a different chuck in the future,
we suggest using a different arbor.
Important: DO NOT install the drill chuck and
arbor assembly until AFTER the test run.
To connect the drill chuck with the arbor:
1. Use acetone or lacquer thinner to clean drill
chuck and arbor mating surfaces, especially
the bore.
2. Retract the chuck jaws so that they are not
exposed.
3. Insert the arbor into the drill chuck.
4. Hold assembly by the arbor and tap chuck
onto a block of wood with moderate force
(see Figure 8).

Initial Lubrication
To prevent spillage, this machine was shipped
from the factory without any oil in it. The head-
stock oil reservoir must be properly filled with oil
before the drill press can be operated for the first
time. Refer to the Lubrication section, beginning
on Page 33, for details on how to check and add
oil.
