POLARIZED PLUGS
To reduce the risk of electric shock, this equipment has a polarized plug (one blade is wider
than the other.) This plug will fit in a polarized outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit,
contact a qualified electrician to install a polarized outlet. Do not change the plug in any
way.
DOUBLE INSULATION FOR SAFER OPERATION
To ensure safer operation of this electric power tool, HITACHI has adopted a double insulation
system. “Double insulation” as used here, means a system of two insulations physically
separated and arranged between electrically conductive materials connected to the power
supply and to the outer frame handled by the operator. Therefore, the nameplate shows
both the “ ” mark and “Double insulation” or either one on the power tool.
Although this system has no external grounding, you must still follow the normal safety
precautions given in this manual.
To keep the double insulation system effective, follow these precautions;
* To avoid lessening the double insulation-feature, always get in touch with your dealer
or an authorized HITACHI power tool repair shop when assembling, disassembling or
replacing parts other than accessories or carbon brushes.
* Clean the exterior of the tool with a soft cloth moistened in soap water, and dry
thoroughly.
Don’t use chloric solvent, gasoline or thinner on plastic components; otherwise they
might dissolve.
