Fifth Wheel Lock (Slider Adjustment) Switch
.
WARNING! Do not move the fifth wheel while
the tractor-trailer is in motion. Movement of
the fifth wheel while a tractor-trailer is moving
can cause a serious accident involving death
or personal injury. Your load could shift sud-
denly, causing you to lose control of the vehi-
cle. Never operate the vehicle with the switch
in the unlock position. Always inspect the
fifth wheel after you lock the switch to be sure
the fifth wheel is engaged.
Vehicles having an air slide fifth wheel have a fifth wheel
slider lock controlled by a switch on the instrument panel.
By placing the switch in the unlock position, you can slide
the fifth wheel to various positions to adjust weight distri-
bution. There is a guard over this switch to protect you
against accidentally activating or releasing the lock.
